Payment & Booking Policy
To reserve your private charter aboard Salty Habit, a 50% deposit is required at the time of booking. Your trip date and departure time are not considered confirmed until the deposit has been received. The deposit will be applied directly toward the total cost of your charter.
The remaining 50% balance is due prior to departure on the day of your trip. Payment may be made using the accepted payment methods provided during the booking process. Any additional charges agreed upon during the charter will be settled at the conclusion of the trip.
Deposits & Reservations
Because each charter date is reserved exclusively for your group, your deposit secures the vessel, captain, crew, and scheduled time specifically for your party. Once your deposit is received, Salty Habit will not accept another charter for that same reserved time period.
Cancellations
If you need to cancel or reschedule, we ask that you provide as much notice as possible.
Cancellations made 7 days or more before departure may have the deposit transferred to another available charter date. Cancellations made within 7 days of departure may result in the loss of the deposit.
No-shows and same-day customer cancellations are responsible for the full charter amount.
Weather & Captain Cancellations
Your safety comes first. Offshore conditions can change quickly, and the Captain has final authority regarding whether conditions are safe for the charter.
If the Captain cancels a trip due to unsafe weather, sea conditions, mechanical problems, or another circumstance that prevents the vessel from safely operating, guests will have the option to reschedule their charter or receive a refund of payments made toward the canceled trip.
Rain, clouds, wind, or less-than-perfect fishing conditions do not automatically constitute a cancellation. The Captain will make the final determination based on the safety and practicality of operating the vessel.
Late Arrivals
Your charter begins at the scheduled departure time. Guests arriving late may have a shortened trip so the vessel can remain on schedule. Additional time cannot always be added to compensate for a late arrival.
We recommend arriving 15–30 minutes before departure to allow time for boarding, safety information, and getting settled aboard.
Mate Gratuity
Mate works for tips! Mates gratuity is not included in the charter price. Remember the mate works for you!
15–20% is customary for excellent service and is greatly appreciated.
Charter Pricing
The charter price reserves Salty Habit exclusively for your group for the selected trip. Pricing includes the vessel, captain and crew, fuel for the normal charter itinerary, and standard equipment associated with your selected trip unless otherwise stated.
Certain specialty trips, unusually long-distance destinations, additional hours, or special requests may involve additional charges. Any such costs will be discussed with you before departure whenever possible.
